Guidance, not verdicts
Everything on this site, the guides, the suburb pages and especially the which-side-of-the-line tool, is general guidance. The tool gives you an honest lean based on what you tick; it cannot see your door, and it never diagnoses a fault, promises a fix or estimates a cost. Real answers about a real door come from someone looking at it, which is exactly what an enquiry arranges.
No prices on this site
Deliberately. Repairs are priced on site before work starts, and new doors are quoted after a proper measure. Nothing on this website is an offer at a price, and no page here should be read as one.
Safety
Garage doors carry real stored tension in their springs and cables, and this site's safety notes exist for a reason. Nothing here is an instruction to attempt spring, cable or track work yourself. If a door has gone bang, come off its track or been through flood water, keep clear of it and get it looked at.
Images and examples
Some images on this site are illustrative, stock or generated, and worked examples in guides are exactly that: examples. They show the kind of situation described, not a specific past job at a specific address.
Outside links
Guides link to councils, emergency services, standards bodies and news coverage because claims should carry their sources. Those sites are their own; linking to them doesn't make us responsible for what they say, and their content can change without us knowing.
Brands and standards
Where door or opener brands are mentioned, they're mentioned generically as makes we work on or talk about. We don't claim authorised-dealer, approved-installer or certification status with any brand or standards body on this website. Where Australian standards are referenced, we describe what they cover; compliance questions about a specific product belong with the manufacturer and the certifier.
Doing our best, honestly
We keep this site accurate and current, and when something changes, we fix the page. But websites describe the world imperfectly, so the site is provided as-is, and the honest arrangement is this: decisions about your door get made at your door, with you, not from a web page.
